  Unfortunately, there is not an option to post as worse than poor. I went to Desert Dental Solutions after receiving a flyer in the mail for a $59 cleaning (valued at $250) or free take-home teeth whitening. I really needed to find a dentist in my area because I had not had my teeth cleaned in quite some time. I opted to have the cleaning covered by my insurance and take the free whitening. They fit me into the schedule rather quickly and my appointment was great. The cleaning went well and the hygienist was very gentle. I received an oral cancer screening and a fluoride treatment during the routine cleaning. Dr. Conderato was an excellent dentist. She was very patient and answered all of my questions, including questions about my husband’s oral care. She was very easy to talk to and seemed to be quite thorough with her exam. She was really one of the best dentists that I have visited in my life and I am quite upset that I will never be back to this office. When the cleaning was complete and I went to check out, I was told that my cost for the appointment was $100. Since this was just supposed to be a routine cleaning that was covered by my insurance, I was quite shocked. I was told that the cost was for the oral cancer screening ($65) and the fluoride treatment ($35). I stated that I was not advised that these services were going to cost more, but I was told that if I didn’t want to be charged for anything that wasn’t covered by insurance that I should have told them of that before the cleaning (even though the hygienist made it seem as though these services were part of the routine cleaning). I was scheduled for two fillings two days later which were estimated to cost $238 (after insurance). The next morning I started researching other dentists in the area and quickly found that Desert Dental Solutions was grossly overcharging me. I quickly cancelled the appointment for my fillings and made an appointment with another local dentist (who was very shocked to see that Desert Dental Solutions charged my insurance $340 for a routine cleaning—That cost is AFTER I paid $100). I ended up only needing one filling and my total charge was $68. When I returned to pick up my free whitening trays I, again, informed the office manager about my unpleasant experience. I told her that I really felt taken advantage of and I informed her of the poor reviews that were listed online. I told her that I would really like to post a good review online, for the dentist’s sake, even if I was not going to return to their office, but until this matter is resolved, I did not feel that I can do that. She said that she would talk to their financial person and get back to me. It ended that I did not get any of my money back, even though I was not informed at all that I was going to be charged for those services. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this office to anyone because it seems as though they are more interested in money rather than retaining and taking care of their customers.
  
  ***UPDATE: Prior to posting this review I sent an email to the office with this review. I advised them that I would be posting this on several different sites in two days, but I wanted to afford them the courtesy of giving them one last chance to right this situation. It has been over a week since that email has been sent and I still have not heard anything from them. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!
